After two years the GORM (German Off Road Masters) has established as "the" German championship. Due to the co-operation with the German Motor Sport Association "DMV" now the GORM even leads officially the title "German Rally Raid Championship" - for the first time in German History. As the main sponsors Hella and Toyo Tires back up the successful racing series - despite the bust - in 2009 there will be the chance to win again something.
At the four GORM races there will be distributed goods prizes of the value of EUR 25,000. The media feedback of the "German Rally Raid Championship 2008" is enormous, 30 pages in different motor magazines, 130 minutes broadcasting time in the German TV and well 200,000 contacts in the internet.
In 2009 the expansion continues, the highlight of the season might be the 24-hours-Off Road Race from 14th to 16th of August. At this probably most spectacular German Off Road event SUV´s, light trucks and ATV will drive around-the-clock a well 1,000 km long merciless race. Daniel Wiesel, race director, says: "A 24-hours-rally, this is the biggest challenge for human and machine". After a long search for a suitable area, they finally found one near Cottbus (90 km south of Berlin).
There will be a 12 km long round course for this mega event. At the most interesting points there will be public viewing areas. This 24-hours-race is not only of interest for various participants all over Europe but also already for different public TV stations.
